Rock is an in-appropriately named village focussed
around a long, sandy beach and sailing club. The village has
a post office, newsagents, butchers, bakery, delicatessen, garage,
Spar shop, pubs and restaurants. The waterfront is a hive of
activity during the season and offers a wide range of watersports.
Polzeath and New Polzeath are villages set around an expanse
of beach known as Hayle Bay. Atlantic-facing, the beach is washed
by waves that provide good surfing and some spectacular sights
in extreme weather conditions. The sunsets over the bay are
magical.
